| Full Circle for Canoeing Challengists... | |
| Public speaking fills many people with absolute terror, but no the brave souls of the Bolton Lads & Girls Club. On 24th October four teenagers are visiting Leighs Paints to give talks about their exciting canoe challenge - part funded by the Bolton paint manufacturer.
Children in Need 2006 and the journey began. From various fundraising schemes, Leighs Paints collected and donated £600 to Bolton Lads & Girls Club as part of Leighs ongoing support of the club. This donation paid for the training of the challengists to take part in a 100 mile canoe test in Wales. The challenge itself took place on a wet bank holiday weekend in May, with the lads and girls, canoeing for up to 10 hours a day and camping overnight. It took four days to complete the challenge. Leighs Paints employees will hear about this first hand as the presentations will take place on 24th October at 11am and 2pm. Following the last presentation the Leighs Paints Chairman, Brian Leigh-Bramwell, will present the children with a commemorative trophy. This will take place at 2.30pm. Photo opportunities will be available. |
