SEE THE WOOD FOR THE TREES WITH FIRETEX FX5000!

Leighs Paints, the UK market leader in Passive Fire Protection, are proud to announce a new addition to it’s Firetex ‘FX’ range of products – FX5000.

FX5000 is a cost effective and practical intumescent fire protection coating. Water based, chlorine free and, unlike other water based intumescents, FX5000 does not contain TCEP (Tri Chloro Ethyl Phosphate), which is known to cause cancer.

Researched and developed in Leighs unique ‘Firetex Centre’ housing state of the art testing facilities, staffed by experts in the field of intumescents and then independently tested and certified. FX5000 is a thin film coating composition, which reacts at around 200°C in a fire situation, and reduces the rate of temperature increase of the steel and hence prolongs the load bearing capability, FX5000 provides up to 60 minutes fire protection.

Dick Frost, Leighs Paints Managing Director said "Most intumescents which claim to be environmentally friendly may contain TCEP which is harmful both to the environment and the applicator. With FX5000 you are assured that you can use the product both safety and effectively whilst providing the vitally important protection to buildings which can save lives"
