Leighs Paints health & safety data sheets (MSDS) are changing.
What changes will we see?
Firstly a new layout, although you will find information in a similar place.
Secondly two pack materials will now have two data sheets: one for the base and one for the additive. Multi-pack materials will have a data sheet for each component.
An additional safety data sheet will be produced for the lead-containing shades. This will mean that for these products there will be three data sheets for a two pack material.
The application information given on each data sheet refers to the mixed material.
Hazard labelling on MSDS
Data sheets for existing products will show only the Classification, Hazard Information and Packaging (CHIP) classifications.
In the future both CHIP classification and Globally Harmonised System (GHS) classification will be shown. Data sheets will move to the new format as they require updating.
Label changes
There will be minor changes to our product labels:
Front Labels
VOC added as required under the Paint Products Directive.
Cleanser/Thinners removed. The information will still be available on the technical data sheet.
Subject to retention of claim removed.
Back Labels
Mixing Instruction removed. The information will be included on the technical data sheet.
Instruction to consult safety data sheet removed.
A new telephone number can be found on the labels for 24/7 emergency cover. Both our telephone number and the emergency contact number will be shown on the safety data sheet.
