Roadmarkings are often taken for granted. As you expect them to be there, you would be surprised how much a driver subconsciously misses them. Roadmarkings act as a crucial guidance system to highway commuters, providing visual information from the speed limit to bends in the road ahead. So when the roadmarkings aren’t clear, then the driver isn’t either.
Leighs Paints has developed two roadmarking solutions which are durable, cost effective and most importantly save lives. Let us tell you a little more about them…
NiteSite
3 times brighter in dry conditions*
9 times brighter in wet conditions*
Leighs NiteSite is a radically different road marking material to the traditional thermoplastic lines and has been developed for accident blackspot areas.
Did you know 50% of accidents occur during dark wet nights even though these conditions occur only 10% of the time? This startling statistic is one of the reasons Leighs developed NiteSite. Specifically designed to be brighter on dark wet nights, NiteSite helps drivers when they are at their most vulnerable.
Using "cold plastic" (MMA) technology, NiteSite creates a splatter design/structured profile. This stops water pooling on the surface of the line (which deflects light away from the driver) and allows the glass beads to reflect light back at the driver in dark wet conditions. See the difference in our
video.
Where NiteSite has been applied it has dramatically reduced accidents and injuries. Also, NiteSite has proved to be a viable investment giving an excellent rate of return. Don't just take our word for it!

Roadline
Last 4 times longer*
For a long lasting bright roadmarking, Leighs Paints Roadline provides the solution. Roadline is a cold plastic (MMA) material which has the following benefits:
- Excellent skid resistance
- Lower application thicknesses
- Excellent colour retention
A wide choice of colours means that Roadline lends itself to commercialised areas such as supermarket and city centre carparks as well as being used for the nations roads. Other applications for Roadline include roundabouts, perception bars, bus routes and car parking facilities.
